Smells like chicken, tastes like XML. We have plenty of feeds if you are hungry, both RSS and Atom. This way you can always keep an eye out for new content on the site.
1. Get a feed reader.
Feed readers have plenty of nicknames, but in general, their goal is to help you manage your feeds. They are available for just about any platform and there are even online readers.
- Windows: Sharpreader, RSSBandit, FeedDemon.
- Mac OS X: NewsNewswire, NewsFire, Vienna.
- Linux: Straw, akregator, Liferea.
- Browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari.
- Online: Google Reader, BlogLines, My Yahoo!, Rojo.
Not enough variety? There are plenty more available.
2. Subscribe to a feed.
Alright, now that you've gotten your hands on a feed reader, the next step is to select one or more feeds. We have a feed for each section of the site.
- Blogs: Content delivered straight from our blog playground, you can get new content by user, by tag, or just everything in general.
- Media: You won't want to miss any media submissions, who knows what to expect. These are offered by user, by tag, or in packs of everything.
- Music: Are you a music buff? If so, the music feeds will deliver you everything I'm listening to by genre or everything in general. You'll be able to click your way to music paradise just by subscribing.
- Stories: Nothing like reading about the trials and tribulations of present and past experiences. Complete with feeds for users, tags, and everything else, you can be sure to remain informed on what's happening in our lives.
3. Customize them!
Ok, so maybe you don't want to receive updates about the latest Kenny Rogers track I listened to, or perhaps you are interested in blogs by a specific user. Don't worry, we have you covered from head to toe.
Using the image above as an example for the music section, you can customize your feed for specific genres. In this case, we are only going to receive updated content for music albums in the "rap" and "chillout" genres. If I wanted "country" and "electronic" I would specify "country+electronic". Pretty easy right?
- Blogs, Stories, and Media:
These sections support the
userandtagparameters. You can also combine these to craft a custom feed. - Music:
Our music section supports the
genreparameter so you can receive updates for albums added from specific genres. Big surprise, you can also customize genres tags to create a multi-genre feed.
