Apple just unveiled a wide variety of new upgrades to their iPod line, upgraded the services on their iTunes Store to include movie downloads, and released a brand spanking new version of iTunes. See that picture to your left, yeah, that's their new service that allows you to download movies. Oh wait, I almost forgot to mention their debut of a soon to be released product only known as iTV. For now I'll leave it an exercise of the reader to go investigate all the details, but wanted to draw attention to one of my favorite new features of iTunes, 'Cover Flow'.

I must admit, iTunes has been a tremendous help to me in organizing my music and having features built-in, such as smart playlists, that just simply do the trick for me. Despite being a great tool for managing music, it hasn't seen a tremendous amount of changes in the past few revisions other than a few bells and whistles and basic interface changes.

Drum roll please...please welcome something known as Cover Flow!!! If you have an iPod and take full advantage of iTunes, you may likely be as meticulous as I am by ensuring that each album in your collection has some form of album art associated with it. 'Cover flow' provides a new way to look at your music as you listen to it. You can browse through your music by scrolling through the cover art or simply display it as the song is playing in a soothing and reflecting little window above your songs. Take a gander below.

I don't know about you, but I think it's a great new addition to the application. With Apple expecting to release the iTV, which will provide integration of music, video, and photos to the living room television, I fully expect that one of those finely crafted appliances will be making its way to my apartment soon after it's released.
