Ever since college, I've managed to collect a wide variety of bedroom furniture that while functional, was not very soothing to look at. An oak bed, a dresser plastered with random stickers, and a television that is from about 1992. Since I had some time on my hands and managed to scrape together a few bucks, I decided to venture out with my interior decorator (my mom) to Roomful Express and a number of other furniture stores to see what they had to offer. Needless to say, I managed to track down an entire new bedroom ensemble.
I didn't know what I was really getting myself into as I'm not much of a shopper. Most of the time when I go shopping, I'm typically left alone by the salespeople. However, it's a whole different story when you go out with my mom...they flock to her like white on rice for some reason. In this case, his name was Bernie, an older gentleman that had been in the furniture sales business for over 30 years. He helped us for about 4 hours as we swept through the store looking for all the right pieces.
No matter where we went, there he was, almost as if we had tracking devices attached to our wallets. At one point, we agreed to split up to see if Bernie could track us down...he did. Darn, those guys are good considering the size of the store and our attempt at being illusive. After the fun and games were over, I ended up purchasing a number of items:- Sleigh bed
- Dresser
- Night stand with lamp
- Regular lamp
- Small table
- Chest
While I don't have pictures of everything yet, I've included a shot of what the old bedroom look and feel was like.
Now maybe you can see what I mean, notice that old school dresser with the BSD sticker on it. Well, right now I'm waiting for my new furniture to be delivered. I'll try and deliver some screenshots later on when the decorating is done.
For now, I have a few items for sale in case anyone is interested.- Queen size bed frame
- 25' Phillips television
- 36' Sony Vega television
- 4 drawer dresser
Drop me an email if you might be interested.

Big Lots had an awesome Sleigh Bed for a great price under $300!! But as usual I would check places like Ikea for deals on furniture. Then again we purchased a dining room table from Ikea and it had over 500 parts!!! I think you have to be a certified Ikea engineer to get their furniture together!!! :0
